The government, the recession and the miserable bastards who complain about them both

I'm sorry, but I feel well within my rights to have a bit of a bloody rant here. I'm sat watching the local news for Yorkshire and listening to countless people complaining about the cuts that have to be made within the council; it's down to a 'bloody Conservative government' says my mother - hang on a second, let me please tell you what is wrong with that. Firstly, this would've happened next year under a Labour government, it's just that Cameron felt it better to reduce the deficit now rather Continue reading [...]

Milliband strikes! Or maybe not…

Good afternoon fellow readers, how are you doing? I actually put off writing this blog until today as I thought the contents of the Trinity ramble may have fried your brains, if you'd read it. Even if not, I just thought I'd give a quick analysis (wrong word perhaps?) of this week's Labour victory in the Oldham by-election. I actually feel quite guilty. Being a member of the Lib Dems I get invited to all sorts of meetings and really cool things of the political type, one such thing included Continue reading [...]

It’s been a long day, so let’s round things up.

As the title says, it indeed has been a very long day and one filled with drama, both personal and political. Another personal drama; I had the clippers used on my hair for the first time in about Continue reading [...]

A very belated take on the coalition government

I must apologise for the absence of any post yesterday, the trials and tribulations of A-level English Language tore me away from my beloved audience and blog readers. With the housekeeping bit in order let's get down to business. So, we have a new government, a Conservative/Liberal Democrat coalition - the best outcome? After watching the press conference from prime minister David Cameron and his deputy Nick Clegg yesterday (http://bit.ly/9s4UDN) one would have to say yes. The appointment of Continue reading [...]

New PM, New Government, New Britain. New Lib Dems?

David Cameron tonight became the new prime minister of the UK after talks between the Liberal Democrats and the Labour party failed, prompting Gordon Brown's immediate resignation as leader of his party and acting prime minister. Her Majesty the Queen invited Cameron to form a government after accepting Brown's resignation earlier this afternoon. In a speech outside his new home in Downing Street, prime minister David Cameron stated that we would push for a full and formal coalition government Continue reading [...]
